Creating Change in Accessibility for Students with Disabilities

Director of Baton Rouge Services Liz Fussell, EdD, CRC, and Occupational Therapist and Orientation and Mobility Specialist Carmen McLain, OTR/L, CLVT, COMS, participated in a film screening and panel discussion of Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, sponsored by the LSU Reilly Center for Media and Public Affairs on October 25. Jim LeBrecht, filmmaker, disability rights activist, and co-director of the film named the documentary “Crip Camp” to screate a positive change in the entertainment industry and media through advocacy.  The event also included a discussion of the LSU Accessibility Project, a student-led research project aimed at making campus more accessible and supportive of students with disabilities.

“The event was very informative and allowed us the opportunity to connect with faculty and students and their work on the LSU Accessibility Project,” said Dr. Fussell.
